Control activities for the possession and validity of travel documents

Pursuant to current regional regulations (Regional Law No. 16 of October 31, 2017, Article 123 [formerly Article 20 of Regional Law No. 1 of January 4, 2000]), users of local public transport services are required to:

  • obtain a suitable and valid travel ticket,
  • keep it for the duration of the journey and until the stop, and present it upon request by security personnel.

Cavourese S.p.A. will carry out random checks or specific monitoring campaigns to verify the possession and validity of any travel tickets. These checks may be conducted by internal personnel or by external personnel or companies. The inspectors, both at the time of the check and when imposing any fines, will be easily identifiable by their clothing and by displaying a special identification badge.

In carrying out their duties, the personnel responsible for inspections have the qualification of "public official".

Le sanzioni

Travelers without a travel document or with an invalid or unvalidated travel document are subject to the administrative penalty set forth in Article 20 - Regional Law No. 1 of January 4, 2000, paragraph 4, as amended. In addition to the penalty, the fined traveler is required to pay the standard fare in force and any costs for the proceedings (administrative and notification fees). The standard fare for violations committed on extra-urban services is calculated from the departure terminus, for the route already traveled, to the declared destination stop.

The administrative penalty for travel irregularities can be paid in a minimum amount:

a) immediately to the enforcement officer upon notification. In this case, the enforcement officer will issue, as a receipt for payment, a copy of the notification, checking the "amount collected" box;

b) within 7 days, payment of one-third of the maximum penalty at the Cavourese offices; If payment is not made within 7 days, the fine may be paid in a reduced amount (equal to 1/3 of the maximum fine or, if more favorable, double the minimum fine):

c) from the 8th to the 60th day from the date of notification or notification of the violation, using the same methods indicated in point b).

After the 60-day period and in the absence of full payment, Cavourese S.p.A. will submit a report to the Service Provider, and the full fine will be due.

Cavourese S.p.A. will report to the judicial authorities any irregularities of criminal relevance found, such as the forgery or alteration of travel tickets, even if unused, and the refusal to provide personal details or false declarations regarding one's own or others' identity.
